THERAPY SERVICES

Find out about my services, special interests and therapeutic approach

While I work with adults of various ages and with a range of difficulties, I find it particularly rewarding to work with young adults navigating the unique complexities of their 20s and 30s. My special interests include (but are not limited to) depression, anxiety and childhood trauma. I also have an interest in helping clients with relationship difficulties, and working with major life changes, losses or events.

I am a neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, and currently offer individual sessions at my practice in Linden (Randburg, Johannesburg). Sessions can take place weekly or every second week, depending on your needs.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

My work follows an integrative framework with humanistic psychology at its core. Working in an integrative way means that I bring together different therapeutic modalities (such as person-centered therapy, attachment theory, Interactional Pattern Analysis and mindfulness-based approaches), depending on their relevance and suitability to individual clients. As a humanist at heart, the foundation of my work is rooted in the belief that each person has inherent worth and the potential for self-actualisation. This foundation also emphasises the importance of understanding your unique perspective and experiences; fostering a non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic environment.

Why invest in therapy during young adulthood?

Whether you are a student grappling with academic demands, a young professional adapting to the world of work, or someone in their thirties trying to juggle all the challenges that continue to come your way, navigating young adulthood comes with a maze of transitions and unique pressures that can feel difficult to overcome. In this transformative period, our experiences can often lead to overwhelming emotions and a great deal of uncertainty.

However, amidst the chaos lies the potential for profound personal growth and self-discovery. It's within this context that therapy becomes an invaluable tool, offering a safe haven to explore your innermost thoughts, emotions and experiences with a compassionate ally.

It also allows for the opportunity to understand the impact that both past and present experiences have had on you in a unique, deliberate way; giving you a greater understanding of how and why you tend to respond to yourself, others and the world in the way that you currently do. Additionally, our work together can help you tap into what a fulfilling life would look like for you specifically, paving the way for the unfolding of your unique potential.

Armed with this sense of greater self-awareness and self-compassion, you can ultimately embark on the years ahead with a newfound clarity, resilience and sense of meaning that will always be available to you from deep within.
